The Graduate School of Economics is seeking to foster individuals who can conduct research in economics or work as professionals with a high level of expertise based on the spirit of integrity, freedom, and cooperation, which has been handed down since the establishment of the Kobe Higher Commercial School, our predecessor.
Master’s Program
Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:
- Students who have a desire for deep academic learning and knowledge within the field of economics.

Basic Policy for the Selection of Students:
Master’s applicants will be selected based on the following characteristics, which are in accordance with the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy outlined in the Graduate School of Economics’ master’s program: knowledge in economics, critical thinking skills, quantitative reasoning skills, communication skills, ability to work independently and within groups, and interest in economics.
Applicants will be screened for these characteristics in the General entrance examination, Recommendation-based entrance examination and Special entrance examination for working adults.
Doctoral Program
Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:
