Master’s Program
The Master’s Program of the Graduate School of Science aspires to train students to enable them to obtain a broad range of knowledge in their respective fields in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and planetology, as well as problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:
- Those who have both a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and drive for scientific research, and possess a fundamental academic aptitude in the field at a bachelor degree level.

Basic Policy for the Selection of Students:
To select students in line with Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy of the Graduate School of Science, the school conducts entrance examinations which comprehensively assess each applicant?s competence in the following areas: knowledge and technique; critical thinking, good judgement, and power of expression; initiative and cooperativeness; and interest and motivation.
Doctoral Program
The Doctoral Program of the Graduate School of Science aspires to train students to enable them to gain advanced expertise and broad perspectives in their respective fields in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and planetology, as well as outstanding creativity and innovative thinking.
Applicants are sought with the following qualities and abilities:
- Those who have both a strong sense of intellectual curiosity and drive for scientific research, and possess a fundamental academic aptitude in the field at a graduate level.
